Angel Tree is a project of the Prison Fellowship and gives parents in prison the opportunity to send a Christmas present to their children.
It’s a locally led project, nationally supported. Prison Fellowship sent out 5,172 gifts to prisoners’ children in 2023 in the UK.
Prison Fellowship’s vision is to minister care, and to nurture the bond between prisoners and their children. An Angel Tree project goes towards “lessening the devastation experienced as a result of parental absence by not only helping families connect and build relationships but by providing children with much needed joy at Christmas”.
Each Christmas, Angel Tree projects are run for HMP Whitemoor. They are organised and led by Prison Fellowship, Angel Tree coordinators and those interested in supporting and helping with this project.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
